Motorcyclist killed in Greenburgh SUV crash ID’d


According to the police, Andre Garcia was hit by an SUV while making a turn.

The accident happened on Thursday evening between a car and motorcycle due to which a 37-year-old man died. The case is under investigation by the authorities.

Detective Sgt. Robert Whiting told that Greenburgh police responded to the intersection of Hillside Avenue and Old Tarrytown Road in the Fairview section of town after a collision between a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle was reported around 10:45 p.m.

Whiting added that Andre J. Garcia was behind the wheel of his BMW motorcycle and was travelling north on Hillside Avenue when he collided with a Chevrolet Suburban being driven by a 78-year-old man who was making a left turn onto Old Tarrytown Road to go home.

It is not confirmed if investigators found any contributing factors in the accident and it is also not clear if any charges were filed against the SUV driver.

His obituary shows that the visitation hours for Garcia are scheduled for Friday at 9 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in White Plains. A funeral service will be held after the visitation at 11 a.m. at the church.
