Pedestrian killed by car on Bronx River Parkway
WHITE PLAINS – On Saturday night, a pedestrian was killed by a motor vehicle outside the Westchester County Center.
The man was hit at about 10:10 p.m. The location of the accident was the northbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway. The Westchester County police found a four-door sedan with an extensively damaged windshield parked on the northbound shoulder of the parkway near the roundabout in front of the convention hall at about 11 p.m.
Witnesses who saw the accident happening live told the police that the pedestrian was hit by the car while traveling northbound in the correct direction.
Debris could be seen all around the area where the accident occurred.
Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the individual as 65-year-old Benjamin Wolf. He was rushed to the Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he died.
Both north and southbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway were closed with yellow police tape to clear the debris and to investigate the accident. An accident investigation team was on the accident spot as of 12:30 a.m. to determine the cause of the accident. Both directions of the parkway were closed.
On Saturday night, when the accident happened, the Westchester County Center was hosting WWE Live Road to WrestleMaina. People were walking and waiting outside the convention hall as cops were investigating the case.
