Western New York Man Sentenced Up To 12 Years In Prison For Fatal Drunk Driving Crash

BUFFALO, N.Y. – On Wednesday, 31-year-old John Zakrzewski was sentenced to up to 12 years in jail as a man and his dog died due to the accident he caused while driving a motor vehicle at high rate of speed.

Zakrzewski was driving at 105 mph when the accident happened. His car hit 2 motor vehicles in the Buffalo suburb of Elma in December. The intoxication test showed that his BAC level was double the legal limit for driving.

59-year-old Guy Van Iderstine and his dog were killed in the accident.

In March, Zakrzewski pleaded no contest to the charge of vehicular manslaughter.
